Job Description Job Description Summary: The Program Specialist
provides direct, non-therapeutic services for the Child Abuse
Prevention Program (CAPP) and works closely with other program
staff and/or volunteers. Essential Functions Completes specific
program assignments, including but not limited to: Deliver program
presentations to students, parents, and teachers in school and
community-based settings. Assists with the development and updating
of program materials. Assists with program related correspondence
about activities. Completes assigned program documentation
accurately and on-time. Delivers presentations both in-person and
virtually. Receives disclosures of child abuse or neglect and
reports disclosures as necessary. Performs other duties as required
or assigned Complies with all company policies and standards.

essential functions. Education: Bachelor’s degree Work Experience:
One year of experience in program area. Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Ability to analyze/solve problems and communicate
recommendations. Advanced presentation skills Ability to
communicate information calmly in high-stress situations,
demonstrating sensitivity to the population being served (elderly,
teachers, young students, and adults/families dealing with severe
mental illness). Ability to use general office equipment,
computers, and related software programs. Demonstrates teamwork and
support of the JFS mission and values. Licenses, Certifications and

Work Environment Work is typically performed in an office
environment, employee’s home, or in a school/camp setting. Physical
Demands This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a
desk and working on a computer. The position may require standing
for more than an hour at a time. At times, staff must transport
heavy portfolios and paperwork weighing as much as 50 pounds. The
potential exists for highly stressful and emotionally-charged
encounters with clients and/or family members. Travel Will require
travel to schools, camps, other agencies/organizations. Programs
are presented throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area, as well
as, outlying areas, leading to substantial travel requirements that
may exceed 50% of time. Must have access to private, reliable
