Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization is seeking an Experienced Maintainability Engineer (Level 3) to join Boeing in St. Louis, MO for an exciting opportunity supporting proprietary national defense programs! The successful candidate is a self-starter that will be part of an outstanding team of engineers.Position Responsibilities:The qualified candidate will have been honorably discharged as officer or enlisted from the US Military, having served in an aviation capacity, preferably in the areas of maintenance, aircrew, air department, or operations. The candidate will support engineering efforts on programs at the systems level by analyzing designs, leading/supporting trade studies, and designing/developing concepts as it related to maintenance/maintainer suitability. The candidate will have frequent interaction with DoD customers, and will act as the user/customer advocate on programs in order to instill operational quality in Boeings products.The candidate applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.The engineer is expected to execute Maintainability including but not limited to:

  • Support the planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management for the Reliability & Maintainability team.
  • Integration of operations and maintenance considerations into system design to achieve effectiveness, safety, and economy of maintenance tasks.
  • Development of math models to evaluate maintenance impacts of system design on maintainers and apply R&M technologies and processes to them.
  • Perform maintainability analyses and develop predictions.
  • Analyze scheduled maintenance tasks to ascertain duration and man-power requirements.
  • Incorporate lessons learned to develop maintenance design criteria for advanced aircraft.
  • Disseminate of results and statuses regularly to project stakeholders to include internal Boeing stakeholders, the Government, and/or Suppliers.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Export Control: This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Basic Qualifications:
    • Technical Bachelor's or Master's degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematics, scientific or information technology field of study.)
    • Engineering experience, including systems-level balanced design.
    • Military Aviation Maintainer experience.Preferred Qualifications :
      • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
      • Experience working in a diverse team environmentTypical Education:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
