Electro-physics/Electromagnetics Engineer - Scientist to join the
E3 Design Integration Team located in Berkeley, MO This position
will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)
business organization.The St. Louis E3 Design Integration Team is
responsible for various tasks including but not limited to
analysis, concept development, design implementation, and
verification tasks on various Boeing Defense programs. The position
requires interfacing with multiple disciplines across The Boeing
Company (Engineering, Product Support, Manufacturing, etc.),
external customers, suppliers, and multiple levels of the
organization to manage compliance to design integration
requirements.Primary responsibilities:
- Assists in developing and validating electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare
and other electromagnetic systems, subsystems, components,
interconnects and structures.
- Assists in developing architectures to integrate components
into higher level systems and platforms.
- Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of
computational electromagnetic (CEM) analysis to predict component
and interconnects performance and to optimize design around
established requirements.
- Defines and conducts simple tests to validate performance of
designs to requirements.
- Assists in oversight of supplier electromagnetic testing for
compliance with procedures and standards
- Collects and analyzes data on supplier and partner performance
to ensure compliance to requirements.
- Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from
manufacturing to customer use by recommending engineering solutions
to issues.
- Supports programs and functions site-wide with the
interpretation, implementation, adherence to and compliance of the
Boeing St. Louis site's ESD Process Specification
requirements.
- Supports project management by preparing and presenting project
status data.
- Writes simple sections of proposals to support the development
of new business.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. - The
selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the
listed location options. This position requires the ability to
obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government
requires U.S. Citizenship.
- An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is
requiredBasic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study
in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing
engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data
science, or computer science.
- Engineering experience with EMC (Electromagnetic
Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3
(Electromagnetic Environmental Effects)
- Level 1: Bachelors degree with a combination of technical
education and experience
- Level 2: 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors
degree OR work-related experience with a Masters
- Level 3: 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor
degree OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters degree
OR work-related experience and a PhD
- Willing to Travel Domestically and internationally as
neededPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- B.S Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering or Physics
- Experience with relevant aircraft electromagnetic standards:
MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-160
- Experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-704,
MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or
FCC part 15
- Experience performing computational electromagnetic analysis
(FEKO, Cosite, ANSYS, CST)
- Experience with written and verbal communication and leading
projects, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver
results
- Engineering experience with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
- Experience working within an engineering organization
- Experience with lightning testing and analysis
- Certification as TEMPEST Professional (CTP-I or CTP-II)Typical
Education:Level 1: Education/experience typically acquired through
advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education
and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred,

education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an

typically acquired through advanced technical education from an
accredited course of study in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5
or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination
of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years'
related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the
preferred, although not required, accreditation
