We are seeking an enthusiastic Medical Director to lead our Team! Our AAHA-accredited 6-doctor practice was established in 1958 and have served our community for 61 years! We are in St. Louis, MO and North County's only full-service veterinary hospital offering small animal medical and surgical services, boarding and grooming. -We are looking for someone to lead our dedicated and experienced team.   • Modern building with five exam rooms, two table treatment area, two table surgery suite, five wards, an isolation ward, a large dog run area and an outdoor exercise area
  • State-of-the-art dental suite to include two high speed units as well as digital dental radiography and all our staff have received in depth dental training
  • In-house laboratory capabilities for selected blood chemistries and panels (new Idexx suite), urinalysis, sediments, cultures, PCV, TP, Felv/FIV, and various ELISA tests performed by technicians + external full service clinical and pathological laboratories
  • Complete pharmacy - large inventory of established pharmaceuticals as well as many of the latest developments
  • Newest version of AVImark - streamlines the management of a client database of more than 12000 patients

Medical Director Leadership Qualities, Responsibilities & Qualifications: Advancing Medical Care
        • Oversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, and client communication and education
        • Answer client questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical procedures
        • Provide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory
        • Oversee transfer of medical cases from doctor to doctor
        • Minimizes waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventories Leading Staff and Practice
          • Participate in recruiting and interviewing process for Doctors, and when appropriate general staff members.
          • Be passionate about Mentoring other Associates
          • Monitor Doctor performance and production
          • Participates in technician appraisal and medical counseling sessions
          • Ensure all medical staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new graduates
          • Supports the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensure
          • Drive revenue and contribute to hospital growth, including managing hospital expenses
          • Assist in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget and capital budget
          • Drives patient visits and encourages community involvement
          • Embrace change and support interests within the hospital
          • Monitors client service, marketing, and growth initiatives The Area St. Louis has a variety of great things to offer.
