A healthcare facility in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with specialized experience in Cardiac and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nursing for a contract position. This role requires a minimum of two years' experience in CVICU or cardiac care, ensuring high-level patient support in a fast-paced acute care setting. Qualifications and Experience: Active RN licensure (pending licenses accepted) Minimum of 2 years CVICU or specialized cardiac ICU experience required (neuro ICU experience not accepted) Valid ACLS and BLS certifications BSN degree preferred Experience with ventilator and arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, Impellas, balloon pumps, and LVADs Skills in managing acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia Familiarity with vasoactive drips, central line care, dialysis, and foley catheter management Ability to pass the Relias EKG exam Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients in a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices and arterial lines with precision Collaborate within the CVICU service line to meet facility needs, including floating when necessary Adhere to hospital protocols and utilize EPIC charting system for documentation Schedule: Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) Weekend requirement: every other weekend Benefits and Perks: Guaranteed 36 hours per week with option for 48 hours 13 to 16-week contract duration preferred Monthly parking passes available (fees vary depending on location and shift) Magnet and Teaching Hospital designation with Level I Trauma Center status Opportunity to work with a well-established short-term acute care facility This contract nursing opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding atmosphere for professionals passionate about cardiac critical care.
