Physician Opportunity We are looking for a full-time pediatric
critical care physician to join our team, providing essential
clinical services in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and
sedation services at a prominent children's hospital. This role
encompasses clinical practice, academic instruction, research
initiatives, and the establishment of follow-up care programs for
patients post-PICU. Candidates should be board-certified or
eligible in both Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Cardiology,
with substantial experience in managing critically ill pediatric
patients. Our organization is seeking a dedicated pediatric
critical care faculty member to become part of the Department of
Pediatrics, specifically within the Division of Critical Care
Medicine. The successful applicant will deliver clinical services
in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Sedation
Service. Academic rank and appointment at the affiliated university
will be based on the candidate's experience. We are particularly
interested in individuals who focus on pediatric critical care
fellowship education and have the potential to create
research-driven and clinical programs for post-PICU follow-up care.
A minimum of three years of post-fellowship experience or relevant
cardiac expertise is required. This position presents a unique
opportunity to blend clinical responsibilities with academic
endeavors in a collaborative and nurturing environment. The
Division of Pediatric Critical Care comprises 10 full-time faculty
members and 5 acute care pediatric nurse practitioners, providing
critical care in a 21-bed mixed medical/surgical/cardiac PICU,
which sees around 1,000 admissions annually. Our cardiothoracic
surgery and cardiology programs are nationally recognized,
performing approximately 200 index surgeries each year. We also
have a robust ECMO program and a comprehensive heart failure and
transplant initiative, including all VAD capabilities. Our facility
is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, recognized as a Magnet
hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and is a Gold
Level ELSO Center of Excellence. The pediatric emergency department
is the busiest in the region and is supported by a specialized
pediatric and neonatal critical care transport service. Our
hospital consistently ranks highly in pediatric subspecialties
according to U.S. News and World Report. The Division of Pediatric
Critical Care also manages programs in solid organ transplant,
hematopoietic transplant, and renal failure support, including an
active CRRT program, neurocritical care (including epilepsy
surgery), and advanced respiratory care techniques. Additionally,
the Division provides procedural pediatric sedation services to
around 1,800 children each year. Faculty members are engaged in
research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education
for students, residents, and pediatric critical care fellows. We

qualified candidates must meet the following criteria: 1) possess a
medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) be board-certified/eligible in
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, 3) be board-certified/eligible in
Pediatric Cardiology or have completed a fourth year of specialized
training in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, 4) be eligible for
permanent medical licensure in Missouri, and 5) have experience
caring for complex and critically ill infants, children, and
adolescents within the last five years. Located in St. Louis, MO,
