Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,806 per week Shift Information: 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience required License: Must have active state license in hand or be in application process to apply Certifications: BLS required, CNOR preferred Must-Have: General OR and Trauma experience required Level I trauma experience required Required case experience includes: - Laparoscopic assisted cases - Appendectomy - Cholecystectomy - Colon resection - Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical) - Mastectomy - Thyroidectomy (partial/total) - Whipple - Cervical fusion - Craniotomy - Laminectomy/discectomy - Lumbar fusion - Arthroscopy - Carpal tunnel release - Closed reduction of fractures - Open reduction of fractures - Free flap (microvascular) - Organ donation - Cystoscopy - Nephrectomy - Prostatectomy - Amputations - Gunshot/stab wounds - Multiple injuries - Code response - Fire safety - Latex allergy - Malignant hyperthermia Description: Position requires working in the operating room. Shifts are 4x10s, 13:00 to 22:00. Candidates must have experience in a variety of surgical procedures, including general surgery, trauma, and various specialties. Floating may occur within the hospital, but is rare. Weekend coverage is required once a month. First-timers are not accepted. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager. Experience with Cerner is preferred. Knowledge of infection control, specimen handling, and universal protocol is essential. Candidates should possess the ability to administer blood products and demonstrate radiation safety knowledge. All service lines except for cardiovascular will be covered. This position is within a Level I trauma center in an acute care hospital setting. Candidates must be prepared to work with interdisciplinary support teams. Clinical competencies in emergency management, equipment usage, and professional protocols are necessary. Candidates should ensure all requirements are fulfilled to be considered for the role.
