Must-Have: Must have trauma Level I experience. Must have required
skills in general OR, teaching hospital, and trauma. Must have
direct laryngoscopy, radical neck dissection,
tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and tracheostomy case experience. Must
have colonoscopy, EGD, and PEG tube placement/exchange endoscopic
procedure experience. Must have appendectomy, cholecystectomy,
colon resection (Open/LAP), and hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical)
general surgery experience. Must have abdominal hysterectomy and
laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures gynecology case
experience. Must have craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, and
lumbar fusion neurosurgery case experience. Must have cystoscopy
and nephrectomy urology case experience. Must have trauma skills in
amputations and gunshot/stab wounds. Description: The position is
for an OR Tech in the surgical services department. The average
daily census is 50-60 cases per day. Candidates should have a
minimum of 3 years of experience in a surgical setting. First-time
applicants will not be accepted. Weekend shifts are required once a
month with a total obligation of 16 hours. On-call duty will be
required as needed for the department. Candidate will float within
their scope of practice to meet facility needs. Schedule requests
can be discussed with the manager. All time off must be reviewed
and approved by the manager. Candidates must obtain fingerprinting
before starting the role. Experience in a Level I trauma center and
a teaching hospital setting is preferred. The facility covers a
broad range of patient diagnoses except for eyes and cardiothoracic
cases. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of aseptic
technique, isolation precautions, and universal protocol
procedures. Clinical modules must be completed prior to onboarding.
