This contract role requires a commitment of 36 or 48 hours per week and offers a 13-week assignment. Responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care to post-operative cardiac patients, including CABG, valve procedures, thoracotomies, and respiratory failure cases. Utilize critical care equipment such as chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP machines. Monitor patient conditions, implement nursing care plans, and coordinate with ancillary departments. Maintain professional standards in accordance with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility guidelines. Participate in orientation week on day shift prior to starting night shifts. Adhere strictly to the dress code and facility policies, including flu vaccination requirements during the season. Qualifications: Current RN license meeting Missouri eligibility criteria. Minimum 1 year experience in inpatient cardiac stepdown units. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA only). NIHSS certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player. Schedule: Night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend coverage as required, averaging every other weekend.
