Provide expert nursing care in a Surgical Stepdown unit in St. Louis, MO, with an emphasis on post-operative and high-acuity patients. This contract role offers the chance to work night shifts within a well-established hospital known for advanced trauma and cardiac care. Responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manage care for post-op patients requiring cardiac infusions, BiPAP, and close monitoring. Collaborate with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional standards consistent with hospital policies and nursing guidelines. Float to other departments of equal or lower acuity as needed. Adhere to the hospital dress code and infection control policies, including seasonal flu vaccination requirements. Qualifications and Experience: Valid RN license eligible for Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri. Minimum 2 years nursing experience in Stepdown or ICU settings. Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association). Proven skills in critical thinking, time management, post-op care, handling cardiac drips, and BiPAP management. Positive attitude with a problem-solving, team-oriented approach. Schedule and Assignment Details: Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM. Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 (must be indicated upon submission). Weekend hours approximately every other weekend; no call requirements. 13-week contract assignment.
