The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Flight Simulation Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the Flight Simulation team located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Flight Simulation F18 Development and Integration Team is seeking an experienced engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test real-time operator-in-the-loop models and simulations of aircraft systems and displays. These models and simulations support the development of next generation avionics and sensor systems for the F18 Super Hornet and Growler aircraft.
Responsibilities include all phases of simulation software design, development, integration, and test of the avionics models and displays necessary for the capability based maturation of Super Hornet and Growler aircraft systems.

Position Responsibilities:
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
Executes and documents software research and development projects
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain a Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Ability to obtain a Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
C++ and Object Oriented methodology (5+ years)
Real-time software development (5+ years)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Windows development environment
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Modeling & Simulation software development experience
Experience with Git and Jenkins
Basic knowledge of avionics architectures and integration

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
